Reading Around Handwriting
Reading Around Handwriting is based on the sequential development of handwriting. The series contains a range of stimulating activities including:

The focus of the Pre-Primary Book and Book 1 is patterning which is an essential precursor to correct letter formation. The Pre-Primary book is presented in a larger book (33 x 25cm) allowing students room to move. The remaining books in the series use appealing information to form meaningful sentences for students to read and copy. The sentences include the most commonly used words and letter combinations and provide the opportunity for students to practise the formations they use in their own writing.
About the authors
Tracie Wright has wide experience in teaching in primary schools, particularly with children in the early years. The understanding she has gained of how children’s handwriting develops has been applied in the wide variety of developmental activities she has provided in the Reading Around Handwriting books.
Jan Brandreth is an acclaimed teacher with over thirty years experience. She has marked thousands of students’ narrative stories and essays and has a deep understanding of how students’ lack of control of the language conventions prevents them from becoming successful writers.
